The other day I was in my truck and the speaker on the rear driver side was not working. Well they're el cheapo 3 way enclosed speakers and the driver side was not working. I checked the connections and all was good. Then I unmounted the speaker and it weighed a ton!! IT WAS FULL OF WATER!!!!! It has been raining the other day but nothing else was wet in the cab. I took it out and tore it apart and it's shot to hell. Time for new better speaker but before that I want to fix this leak from somewhere. The seat, and everything else behind the seat is perfectly dry. No leaking from the rear window since I checked it with a water hose. I tried to find the leak but I can't find anywhere it would be. The speaker was mounted in the cab corner and nothing else was wet. Okay gurus WTF happened here??

LOL I wish it was that easy. She wouldn't do that since I have too much stuff on her.

Plus she has no keys to the truck.

im gonna bet that the seals on your drip mouldings are shot. mine were, and that's where the rust that ended my 82 C10s life appeared.

did you mount that cab surround I sent you ?
If so the outter end where you tapped the cab
may have dripped right down into that speaker
area, other than that check the seam in the cab on that side

Sounds like to me is is getting in thru one or more of the holes where your drip molding is bolted to. Like Jeremy said, replace the gaskets...wouldn't hut either to use a small about of silicone on the screw threads when re-installing.

You also better check down there in the cubby behind the speakers...might be a bunch of water in there too....which could cause rust and ruin your cab corners.

Nvbowtie- Not mounted them yet. Still in the shed out of the weather and waiting for the paint job before I mount them.

Jeff- Good idea on the silicone and cab corners. I'll make sure to check them in the morning.

A leak anywhere in the roof can come down into the corners because the top is double wall. Any old antenna holes, Clearence lights, Bed light? All could leak and it get there. Even the back window seal is suspect.

I would check the low spot under the seat and make sure the insulation is not wet. I have put a lot of cell phones in this body trucks back 15 years ago and I found a lot of them wet in the roners and under the seat from leaks that I suspect are at the bed light.

If you have not already done so, why not just hose down the truck (exterior) and see if water starts to trail in.
