bumper bracket question

my truck came with a step bumper and i am going to change it over to just a regular chrome one. are the brackets different? if so, where can i get them? thanks a lot, ken

i dont have the books in front of me but im positive that LMC or Chevy Duty or even Cheyenne Pickup Parts has em. I had an old set around here somewhere but it would be easier right now finding a needle in a haystack with the mess i have here. check ont he parts board too i bet someone has a set somewhere

Ken:

You won't need to buy different bumper brackets when you switch from a step bumper to the regular chrome bumper. Both bumpers use the same hole locations to mount. While you have your bumper off, it will be a good time to refurbish the mounts, removing rust and coat with black paint or POR 15. I also coated the insides of the bumper with paint. They always seem to collect rust.

sweet, thanks for the good news. now i dont have to buy new ones. all that little stuff adds up! my mounts are all black still. you gotta love thoes low mile trucks. thanks for the help.
btw we should meet up sometime.
