I posted these and a few more in the pics forum. That SWB crewcab looks pretty good. I think I like it better than the one Jason built for himself. The Blazer owner should have quit while he was ahead. The two tone colors don't work for me...

Who me? I ain't no hater. I don't have a problem with two-tones. I have a problem with the colors he used. They just don't work for me that's all...

It might mess better with something between the colors. I just dont like the truck because of some particular choices he made building it.

It was Gauge Magazines features last month, when it was solid yellow. I believe Gauge listed it had a 2 link. I guess this crap wont ever stop.

I don't mind 2-links on show vehicles that are rarely driven but daily drivers are another story. For the record, I'll never purchase one.

The two tone look is starting to grow on me. See a lot of folks doing that like Rod Bell on the Hot rod Lexus he built and Chuck Foose. I'm not real hot on yellow anything but looking at the build picture where you can see the truck was all yellow, I think the two tone was an improvement over the solid yellow. Putting the dark on the top did it. If the dark had been on the botom I would not have cared for it at all. Now I think it would have looked better in a Burgandy (sp) and the same gun metal gray but I have never really cared for really bright colors other then red/hugger orange. Yellow would have been my last choice

That's just me. <shrug>

They shouldnt even be on show vehicles. People see those and dont think anything bad about it and build one themselves, end up dieing b/c it buckled or broke while driving.

This is the reason our hobby is looking at as the Ricer import scene, b/c ppl dont care what is right or wrong, in any case.

The blaze would be better had he not painted the wheel fins to match.

That green one is a lot lower than he was at HW.

So being a smartass is the perfect way to defend you being wrong? That is nice.

Lemme guess, you had a 2 link? A 2 link gives no flex, it solidly mounts to the axle and then mounts in the leaf hanger (most do, some are "custom) it still isnt right. Not only do you only have 2 bars trying to track the truck, you now how less flex then stock. Go over an incline and watch your rear wheel come up, b/c it cant flex down and allow movement. The bars bend all of the time when in a lever setup. also gives a lot of pinion angle change.

Reverse 4 link... if you had one of those, then congrats.. An axle is suppose to arc forward, not back. A reverse 4 link arcs back, pulling the driveshaft out of the rear, but hey.. i guess they're okay! (not)

I'm not gonna make a huge post on why they are wrong. I dont have time. If you can't use common sence of suspension geometry and how it works, then you shouldnt touch a welder or a truck, that is my opinion. I see you're in Oklahoma also.. i know eastern okla is land of crap work.. I live around Muskogee, there isnt 1 truck down there that i know of, that is worth a flip.

:shrugs: build what you want.. but there is a plan between a lot of ppl to try and clean this sport up and its wasys, just like the hot rodders did, to weave the idiots out of there.

Word. I'de like to see street trucks designed and built to the hot rod level of quality.

About show trucks and 2-links. I agree about others seeing these trucks and thinking it's OK. However, I'm concerned w/ that daily driven truck, not the one that rolls on and off a trailer. I get your point though.

Guys, I can see that this is heading the wrong way. It seems that every time a thread gets started about suspension theory that it gets turned in to a p!ssin contest over what is right and what is wrong.

Out of respect for this forum, please keep you comments civil. Open discussion is enjoyed and appreciated. Open attacks are not...

Let me just start out by saying that I know that a 2 link is not the best set-up, nor is a reverse 4 link. In fact a reverse 4 link is completely wrong "theoretically". But I dont think that you can argue that they dont work. In fact I have had both and they do work, and I am not dead. You cant really go around saying that everyone who has a 2 link is going to die because it is gonna break. Mine never broke. period . nuff said

As far as the hot rodder thing, dont preach to me I'm not some punk kid. I come from a family of hot rodders and craftsmen. Please do not incinuate that my work is not qualtiy work, because you have not even seen it.

In closing, I would like to say that all of us oklahomans who have owned or do own a nice vehicle dont appreciate you saying that there are none here.
Here are a couple of examples of some friends of mine:
