Thumbs down Rear shock mount?

I removed my rear shocks to put on different ones with my lift kit. The nuts came off without a hitch. However, the passenger side nut does NOT want to go back on upper shock mount now. Seems the threads of the mount got fudged up when I pulled the shock off.

Question is... has anyone replaced that upper shock mount before? If so, where did you buy the replacement? Just by the looks of things, it seems like it's removeable... If not I'll just have to jerry-rig some other way of mounting the shock.

You might call the local stores but I bet it's going to be a dealer item.

Upper shock mounts usually come with new shocks. It sounds like the shocks in your lift kit didn't come with any, just go buy a cheapo $10 shock at your local parts house and it will probably have the mount with it. No doubt it will be cheaper than the mounting stud alone from GM.

Thumbs up

Just so happens for once something went smoothly. I took out the mounting stud, headed over to my local Autozone.... and what do you know? A replacement is actually sold in the "Help!" section. So $5 later and I'm in business. Wooo hooo!

I have had to buy a few things from that help section. They have some good items in there. I wish they would expand it though.
