extending filler neck hose.
ok i dont have time at the moment to go crawl under the truck, what size is the filler hose. is it possible to get some about 5 feet long? i am taking a trip to north eastern NM in 2 weeks and would like to have both tanks working. i dont have a passenger side door and i havent found a gas station in a couple years that have pumps that reach all the way over to the other side, so you have to put it down and turn the truck around in the mean time someone has pulled up and already started trying to fill up on you money. At anyrate the idea is to fun a long hose over to the driver side and make another fuel door in the floor of the bed. would pipe work better reaching that far? what kind? this trip was planned last night so i am short on time to do the things i need.

You can use muffler tubing. I "thinK" it is 1.5" diameter, but I am not 100% sure. You will need some fuel hose (boat supply store) to connect everything though.

radiator hose might work if i could find a long straight one.
i was kinda thinking muffler tubing as well, and i think i will go that route. as far as actually filler hose i really only need a few 90* turns and some short peices. |

Muffler tubing is avaliable in different sizes od., ask at the muffler shop. I had dual tanks till I made a large one for the bed, I used to put the filler nozzle on top of the pump, most people are too confused to look up to find it. In the mean time I had turned around. Or just block up the aisle turnig around where the pump is, nobody can come in behind you. If they do yell, shout and honk. They will stop.
