Cool Vent Window Help!

I am replacing all of the window seals on my '78 with an '85 cab. The problem I'm having is how do I get the new vent window seals back on? Does the glass frame have to come out of the main frame? I have the whole vent window assembly out of the door. I see that it's riveted to the frame.

And how do I tell what year of doors I have? There are two different sets of seals, one for the early models and on for late.

Have the same question, already see I need to order new rivet but how do I pull the window apart and put it back together?

Since everyone is gone for the holiday weekend, I guess nobody is around to post. I picked up a set of window seals from a local chevy truck specialty store. I asked them about the winow comming out of the frame. They told me that tension spring and nut at the bottom and the rivet at the top come off. Then you install the seal.

It's a real pain in the rear, I replaced mine and it was the 2 piece type seal. You have to take the glass out, which means like said earlier, take the nut and sring assembly off the bottom and drill the rivet out of the hinge. you can get the new rivets and a rivet setting tool from lmc. someone on the board here was nice enough to send me the rivets and tool for free. I started putting the new seal in starting at the top. (I'm trying to remeber how I did this, It was a year ago) I greased up the new rubber and the frame and turned the frame upside down putting the top down on the ground, then using my weight i pushed and worked the new seal up into the top of the frame and then just worked the new seal on around into the frame from there.
I hope that makes sense. Like i said I thought it was a pain in the rear but Just don't get frustrated and take your time and you'll get it. If it's the 2 piece seal then the closing side piece goes on last. If you got the one piece seal i think you have to glue that side on. When you put the rivet back in it can be kinda awkward trying to hit the thing with enough force to set the rivet without doing damage. Actually i rigged mine up in a vise to set the rivet, I figured I would never be able to whack that thing without breaking the glass.
