ECE Sway bar Brackets question
Today I went to a big American car show at a place called Newark (the original in the UK not the fake copy you guys have over there!) (and yes it chucked it down with rain!) to meet a guy who had a used sway bar for me. It came off a 78 currently with a wrecker on it but we believe it was a camper originally. The great news is that it's a 1 1/4" bar, the bushings need replacing and the frame brackets have seen better days, one having been welded on both bends. Consequently I am thinking about getting a set of backets from Early Classic Enterprises, my question is can I use the shorter brackets on a truck with standrd ride height? I want to tuck the bar up a bit higher in case I ever lower it and it looks neater. I want to get this right as I have to pay international shipping and taxes to get them here. Is anybody out there doing this? I'll also order a set of the polygrahite bushings from them at the same time.
As usual all help welcomed! I can't wait to get it painted up and fitted and see how it handles!

It's Phil, right? I would just send an email to Early Classic Enterprises. Those folks are really decent people and very much prone to offering advice. The have save me money, before I ever spent any money with them.
The brackets you write about, raise the profile of the sway bar about an inch, bringing it closer to the frame horns. I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work with a stock height suspension. The only thing different on mine, is the spindles. They lowered the front of the truck by 2.5 inches. The brackets simply give more ground clearance. I don't see how they can have any negative effect at all. Don

They work fine, I just got a set for the Burb. The Burb didn't have a bar and I found a 1¼" but did not feel like grinding off the frame brackets. Got the lowered set for the same reason you want them.

Anyone have an email address for them? , their website just lists phone numbers. Hey Smitty62, was just pulling the tail of the tiger a little, wasn't meant to offend. We've got em all over here, Boston (Lincolnshire), York (old not New!) Washington (Tyne and Wear) and for the Canadians Halifax is just down the road from me here!,
