Anyone use the plastic spacer between the carb and air cleaner?
does it do anything other than give you more clearence for carb?
were can one of these be had?

Thanks

I to need one and I don't think they do anything but raise the air cleaner. Summit, Jegs all the usual places carry them. Summit also sells a flat air cleaner base which is what I am going with.

Just raises the air breather base up two clear the linkages and things. You could get a tall one but I dont see it doing much other than being able to see your carb a little more. I use a 1/2in one for my 14x6 k&n both on the edl-1406 and stock quadrajet.

Where did you get yours at? Cheapest I have found is Summit at $3.39 plus $8.95 for handling.

i bought a universal one at pep boys i think-it came with a couple different size spacers for the air cleaner and pieces to use a 4 bbl air cleaner on a 2 bbl carb.i bought mine b/c edelbrock air cleaner didnt clear the linkages on my carb.it works great and gave me plenty of room to clear the linkages and fuel lines-carter afb is what im running.

I didnt have any problem with the 1406, but the quadrajet I needed to shave a little bit of the plastic off for the choke to full open and free.
