Just won a set of 02 Silverado Bucket seats ebay..
They're not exactly what I was looking for but for $270 bucks I can live them 'em. The center doesn't fold, I'm hoping it can be fabricated to where it will. I ask about how far the seats would recline, the owner sent me a photo of the seat reclined and i was like DAMN is that the same seat? It looks much nicer than the auction photo - she said I know the auction photo does them no justice.. Cool part is they're only an hour and half drive to go get, don't hafta ship.
I know there's been people that have used these, can anyone tell me how much the seat brackets will need to be modified? Auction Photo up close out of the sun photo

Maybe I am missing something It has been A long day. But if you are putting those into your 71 truck. Then who cares how far they recline?

Nice seats!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, nice score on the seats. Those are the type I'm looking at as well. I'll look thru an issue of Classic Trucks. There is an article on installing all types of seats in our trucks. I don't think you'll have a problem, maybe over the hump. NICE SEATS MAN!!!! And, oh yeah...It'll recline a little without the tank behind you.

Yeah--look in Classic Trucks August 2004 edition. It says that the center console bracket would have to be trimmed a little on those seats. But, overall, the seats are very comfortable among all they tested. ~~~~~page 80.

Osan or Kunsan? I was at the Kun from november 95 till nov 96 - I worked in the central office telephone switch. That's what I want is a swb stepside - seems to be pretty clean. I bought mine from a guy out of Lagrange GA. Lake City was the halfway mark that we met at. The cop shop and CE are pretty much all that's active duty here now, most everything else is civil service. Let me know if you need anything over there.

A good portion of C.E. is still here, not sure if power is one of the sections or not though. '92 is when I went in, stayed active duty till end of '99. Definitely stay in a get the retirement, then go to work somewhere else and retire again.... lol.

I didn't modify the brackets at all on mine. I did have to drill all new holes in the floor though. Make sure you use large plates for washers so if you get into an accident the nuts don't pop through the floor.

I have them in my truck and once they are mounted, they will not recline at all. I don't have the tank behind the seat either. The only postives with these seats is 1.comfort, 2.adjustable forward only(good for the shorter folks). I am trying to get rid of mine. I like them but I really like the 88-94(?) bench better. Click the link for pics. Later, FCG

I just won these seats off of EBAY last week and the best part is I won them for $75. I don't know if he titled them wrong and I just came up on them or what. I'm in the Nashville area and the seats were in the Atlanta area. One of my dispatchers at the police dept. has a girlfriend in Atlanta and he goes and sees her every other weekend. So he went down in his S10 and picked them up. They have been in my garage since Monday morning. They're a little dirty, but no tears or rips. I think they will clean up nice. The only thing that I'll have to get in the plastic cover and handle on the driver's side. I can't wait until I get my truck back from NADC.

nice truck FuelCellGuy!!! I knew they wouldn't recline in my truck, there's no where for them to recline. It just happened to be one of many questions that crossed my mind when I requested additional photos.

Fuel Cell Guy,
Does your center seat flip down to be an armrest on your silverado seats? If so I'm interested. Thanks! Joe |

ts71281,
Unfortunately, they don't. TugOwar, Sure, if you had a nice 88-up dark grey bench seat to trade. That offer applies to everyone here. Later, FCG |
