I'd like a full bed rollbar/cage. Saw a good one in 4 wheeler or Peterson's mag a year or two ago. Saw it so much I lost it.

Does anyone know who builds roll bars for the '69-'72 Blazer/Jimmy rigs? Especially full body?

The photo story I first mentioned above, noted that the cage was built so the hard top could go back on. That's the way I want mine. If anybody else got that mag and knows the info, please tell me the name and the date.

There were a couple of discussions on ColoradoK5.com about roll bars and roll cages. I know there were several guys over there that had fabricated their own and I believe that one guy was building them for others.

I remember that article too but I don't know the date of the issue.

Smittybuilt (sp?) makes one. You need to buy two part #s; the rear cage, and the front hoop kit to go with it. There is also another company that makes them, cant't remember the name but you will find info at CK5.

Yukon Jack, can I ask a follow-up question, even if its dumb?

I thought that sandwich plating the roll bar to the frame would be a weld to the frame from the bottom plate, not a welded frame connection that has a rotatable bushing into which the bottom plate tubing is bolted through. It's hard to describe it, but the pics show it real well.

A sandwich of plates with a solid connection to the fram is what I've seen in another article. But I wondered about the need for rubber or urathane body mounts if the cage is done this way. Might as well put steel body mounts in for all the good they'd do if the cage is stiff welded. Am I right about this?

The articles you listed show rotating connections and that would let the body cushion on its mounts. Is there a give-away in rollbar integrity with them?
