What did you get done?

I got sidetracked watching the Orange County Choppers tribute to David Mann bike build and now I'm on here late.

I spent yesterday taking down Christmas lights, and packing them away for another year. Since I changed my light scheme this year, I had to tag and catagorize all my new lights, and make a legend for next year. It took most of the day to get everything packed away.

Besides that, I detalied my wifes truck since it had rained here all week. That to a while as well.

I can say I actually got "something" truck related done though. I orderded a set of lowered front sway bar frame mount brackets from Early Classic Ent. Then I packed up a set of sway bar bushings and clamps so I could ship them to Stoked Out Specialties....

What did you get done?

Absolutely nothing...unless you count shoveling snow. I am still having issues with my secondary throttle lock hanging up and it is getting annoying. Btw, congrads on your cover story.

I went to work Sat at 5 am and worked til 3 am Sunday--went to walmart then and did weekly shopping. Got to bed around 6 am, up at 11--general BS until 2pm when I played golf. . .

Compleated all my elctrical in the garage. Also installed my new inner fenders. Dont ask me why, Im going to have to take the front clip back off anyways to paint the rad support. I guess I was just bored.

Nothing, I had to do the very rare for me, work on the weekend.

Helped reassemble my buddies rear suspension on his project truck & then went home & worked on my speaker adapters for my 74. I didn't do much today cause my adapters didn't dry enough over night. I guess it's too cold/humid out in the garage. I tried moving the stuff into the computer room in the house but it didn't help much. So, now they're sitting under a heat lamp to help speed the process (I've never used this 'stone finish' paint before & it's taking a long time to cure as it's still tacky to the touch).

Next week hopefully get the speakers mounted & wired up so I'll finally have some tunes in the 74 & I need to get my parts dropped off @ Stoked Out Specialties for stripping & bodywork so I can get my 68 back on the road (I decided I'll get them to do it cause it's been too long waiting for myself to get it done).

i really did nothing truck related on the truck itself but i organized some of the truck parts i have in the garage. A few weeks a 90 year old lady customer of mine had an accident with her car (a cheap ricer) but she had called me and asked if i would help her find another car so saturday i took her and her 50 year old daughter out to look at cars and having found her a 1997 Geo Metro LXI which has 30K on it for $1700 , she gave me the mazda 323 she had the accident with. I contacted my local junkyard and got the entire nose from the 323 for $150 so i pulled the wreck in what is left of my garage and pulled apart the old lights and hood and started to remove the fender that needs replacement.the other one ill fix. I figure in a couple of days ill have a decent beater car which ill be selling off soon enough for like $700.
Saturday night i also went and watched the football game and the jets won

I don't even have a 73-87 any more, but I still like to hang out with you guys so I'll tell you what i did.
Saturday- worked on the showroom at the new shop all day.( got really high from the contact cement we were using on the laminate) We should have it open by the end of the week. FINALLY!
Sunday- I have recently decided to show the 68 a little love, so I ground out all the crappy old seam sealer and gunk out of the drip rails and resealed them. I know this doesn't sound like much, but believe me it is no easy task.
i also tore down the donor engine to check the condition. Everything inside looks great, so new rings and bearings and I'll be in good shape there. Hopefull the weather will cooperate and I can pull the front suspension from the donor and get started on the five lug conversion!

wow i have been neglicting my truck this week...just driving it around, checked all the fluids today and tire presure, sounds like i may need to tighten up my headers. other than that old red is doing great.

I didn't do anything truck related but the CAD design for my frame rails is at Art Morrison right now. They are in the "production" stage and should be shipped shortly.

I finally got to do some work on my truck so i put in my new powermaster 140 amp chrome alternator and it is great. I also installed my dynamat and finished up the bucket seats. Now all i gotta do is build another console and wire all my speakers up.

Stripped the hood to metal, fixed the rust areas of the hood. Primered the hood and put it on the truck and started to bondo it.... Made some visible progress finally.

I get way more done over the week then on the weekends. This week I installed my 14bff, d44 front, then swapped on the 8 lug outers, started on the exhaust, then took it off and just installed the flowmaster till I go to smog it, installed the shocks all the way around, got the brake lines in, cleaned all the parts out of the back of the blazer, started the radio install, cant really think of much more.

Atleast its off jack stands. I still need to get a tcast shifter and install it (should be in the mail), bleed the brakes, pray that the tranny works, put the hood on, finish installing the radio, get it registered, figure out how to get it out of the garage, and then go wheeling.

Didn't do much friday, got home real late so didn't get up til noonish saturday, took my buddy to advanced auto, assessed the situation w/my dads truck and figured out the gameplan for my truck. Then went to work 3-12 saturday night, went to bed @ 4ish. Screwed around all sunday, then took the lady frined to dinner. Not much truck stuff gettin done lately it seems like.

Found out yesterday my intermitten miss was coming from the #2 wire. Swapped on another wire I had around and it got worse. I'm thinking its in the cap as I pulled the wires and they all have about the same resistance. So I just spent $88 on some MSD wires and a pertonix cap and rotor kit. Hopefully that will take care of that. I needed to swap over to my new speedo gears today but the wifey was complaining so I was lazy all day to spend time with her.


You single guys please stay that way, more time and $$ for your trucks!

Got another $100 in corragated (sp) roofing panels for the new shop/paint booth/garage and installed the 120volt outlet in the new overhead console I built for the '84.
In mere minutes (as soon as the sun gets it's ars up) I gotta start installing those roofing panels and I might get that new console in the roof.
