FS: 95 6.5L Turbo diesel engine parting complete engine
I just bought a 95 K3500 SRW 6.5L TD with auto.
This is a L65 truck, not L56 The truck had a smashed grille and the aux. oil cooler was damaged. I bypassed the cooler and the engine starts and runs fine, shows no codes. There is a slight knock in the lower end. Because of that, I would consider the short block as rebuildable and not a ready to install engine. Runs fine and has good oil pressure, but I would go over everything before going to the trouble to install it. I am installing a Vortec 5.7L so I am taking the 6.5 out. The truck has 153,000 miles on it, seems to have been well taken care of. There are receipts in the glovebox that show on 10-18-2000 at 109568 miles the PMD and waste gate control solenoid were replaced and on 8-16-2001 at 118881 miles the fuel pump relay was replaced. That is the only history I have on the engine aside from the fact that it starts quick and runs well now. So, list what parts you need and I will get them listed with a price. Every part concerning the engine is available, including the turbo, radiator, electrical harness, dash harness, PCM ,etc. Post here or PM me. Thanks Listed so far: Radiator with internal trans cooler $90 Turbo $235 Short block $300 Heads complete $150 each Sold so far: Fan & clutch Vacuum pump engine cover alternator air cleaner fan shroud All prices plus shipping. Everything available for local pick up of course.

Just a FYI, 99; a friend of mine bought a 6.5 diesel truck, (92, 5 speed, 3/4 ton)and put a SB 400 in it. The truck he used has 3.42 gears. I don't know if all the diesel trucks were like that or not. They're way to high of gear for anything but a hwy driver with stock size tires.
Just thought I'dlet you know, (if you didn't already). Oh hell, while I'm here...How much for the radiator?

Truck hasn't been driven since it was wrecked. I by-passed the cooler and drove it onto my trailer, unloaded it and drove about a 1/4 mile to see how it ran and then into my shop where it now sits.
