older grill and headlights on an 87?

Has anyone tried to make their truck look older by swapping to a seventies grill with round headlights? It seems popular to swap in the 89-91 Blazer/Suburban (one ton) grille and four headlight setup, but I like the old style grills too. Maybe just to be different. What do you think?

I am sure it can be done.

Around here, you would have to do emissions on an 80 and newer, so if I wanted an older-looking truck, I would surely just find one and not try to change a newer truck.

You would need the whole front clip to do this, but it can be done.

Plus there is no modification to do when going retro. No wiper locations to worry about, no hinge locations to create (unless you want to cover the hole).
