intake gasket thing!!

whats the metal restrictor thing in center of gasket,and do i need it?don't see one on the old one.

Its a manifold heat restrictor. Unless you live in a really cold climate leave it in. It restricts the exhaust gasses heating the intake manifold. I dont use manifold heat at all. No problems
