need one answered
AS YOU CAN SEE I'M NOT IN THIS VERY DEEP YET, BUT I NEED A QUESTION ANSWERED IF YOU GUYS CAN HELP ME OUT. WHAT IS THE REASON BEHIND THE WIDER AXLE ON THE FRONT OF THE 73-87 HEAVY DUTY, 3/4 TON, 4x4? I DIDN'T REALIZE THIS UNTIL WE TRIED TO PUT IT ON A TRAILER FRONT END FIRST & THEN IT STOPPED AT THE TRAILER FENDERS. THANKS FOR ANY KNOWLEDGE I CAN RECEIVE!

I was always told it is so that the tires are making different tracks in case you get stuck.

it is so that the rear tires do not have the same path as the front. It provides better traction.
