Hesitation?
I once again need yall opinions, If I get into the gas nice and slow it doesn't hesitate to rev at all. But if I jump on the gas from a idle it will hesitate a little bit. What should I check out and also I have just a old 350 with about 50k on it. Well it has the eldebrock intake and carb. It also has a "rv" cam in it not much at all no lope really. I was wondering what should the timing be set to? I believe I have it set to about 10 degrees BTDC right now with I think the 25 degree bushing in the distributor. What should total timing be at on a motor like this? Thanks...Mike

If you are hesitating from idle your accelerator pump in the carb could be bad. Im pretty sure base timing for a 350 is 6 deg BTC the cam may be better set at 4 deg BTC
I just put a medium cam in my 350, timing instructions came with the cam kit

I have a sum-1102 cam in a 355. for that motor, 10 degrees initial @ 700 rpms. Centrifugal advance with spring kit comes all in @ 3200 rpms for a sum of 30 with vacuum advance disconnected. Vacuum advance is locked to 12 degrees for a total of 42. I don't have EGR.
Never fooled with an edlebrock (carter type) carb.
