Wood trim interiior packages????
Is there a wood trim package that anyone offers? I think I want my interior to go a different direction than most, instead of all the billet and fake plastic steel - not that theirs anything wrong with it, I just want to find some dark but highly polished wood trim to match a wooden steering wheel. I can find the steering wheel in LMC, not quite what I had in mind something darker.
Anyone know of any please direct me there. Thanks Tom PS this will be for my 86.

Tom-
I know of a company called Wabbit's Wood Works that has been around for a while. As far as I know they started by custom making wood dashes for street rods. They have expanded into making dashes and accessories for 'modern' trucks. Since they custom make their products, I'm not sure of their prices. From what I can remember, their street rod dashes look pretty nice (good craftsmanship).

I have seen a couple of suburbans (late 80s, early 90s) at the junkyards with a fake woodgrain bezel around the gauges. I have also seen some conversion suburbans with wood panels in various places in the interiors. You might be able to salvage some of this kind of stuff. I did not like the way they looked, but I'm probably not a good judge. I don't really like wood in interiors. The exception for me might be dashes in old British sportscars.
A friend of mine was planning something like you have in mind for his '87 pickup, but ended up buying a new truck before he finished it. He built armrests out of oak, and installed them, and was planning to create an oak veneer overlay for the gauge bezel and the trim on the dash and doors. You might be able to come up with something like that. Slonaker |

Never thought about doing it myself, I would just have to remove the fake metal that's peeling off and use it as a template, the same for the doors to. Yeah my first blazer, 77 had the fake wood I think it was part of the cheyenne package at that time man I miss that blazer.
Thanks slonaker.

Jeff your a cruel peerson showung me that blazer, mine was a 4x4 that had high back seats from a 78-79 that had the most awesome upholstry, the exterior was cherry and white. When I had to sell it a lawyer bought it the first day I put a sign on it, he said he had been waiting for it to sell.
Chris that is exactly what i'm looking for, is gregmx a board member and how do I get hold of him since the search mode is down? Thanks for the pic.

It looks like his wood was done by Wabbits. Cardomain lists his email as gregsm@earthlink.net. He is local. I really need to see his Blazer. Slonaker |

I have woodgrain door panels and the section in my dash on my 74 GMC 1500 Coustom, they look good to me.
