Crunch time!
Well, I've only got 3 weeks left to get my truck done in time for grad
Whaddya think, can a guy do all the body work, prime, and assemble a truck that is currently a rolling chassis in 3 weeks? lol Man, I've got a lotta work ahead of me! Thank goodness for the May Long Weekend!

it took me more than 3 weeks to do body work prime paint and assy it but most bopdy shops can do it in 2 1/2 weeks if lucky

Well, I put the old girl under the knife today!
Here are a couple pics for you guys. I finally got the old cab support off the driver's side, then cut out the rot I found underneith it. Thats about it though, the mosquitoes chased me in after that, lol The rest of the pics show the other rust repair I have to do, including both cab corners, and the roof.

And here are the rest of the pics... I hope to have the driver's side patch made tommorow night, and the pass side cab support / rot cut out I cannot weld it back together till I get the sandblaster here to clean stuff up though, I'd hate to leave that surface rust back there

Boy, you sure have a lot of work ahead of you. I think three weeks is very optimistic. Good luck. But, you can probably get it done in three weeks if you have Paul Teutul Sr. or Boyd's Shop Manager riding you.

I guess anything is possible if you put your mind to it. I am not sure how much help you have but that is not much time for all the work it looks like you have ahead of you. But you are young. Good luck. Look forward to seeing if you make it. Hope you do.

I built my 74 from being just a cab sitting on a rolling chassis to a driveable truck in a week of after school blitz
Tonight I had to clean the shop out, but I am about to go out and get the other cab support off, cut it's rot out, and make patches for both holes. Then my progress is basically stuck until my buddy gets around to getting that sandblaster to me. Once I get that thing (hopefully tommorow night!) then I can get the frame done, get the cab back onto the frame, do my cab corners, and then prime the cab up. I am not changing colors, so I won't be bothering with changing the color of my door jams interior etc. That takes a LOT of work out of the process if I must say so myself If my buddy doesn't come through with the sand blaster, I'll begin work on my fenders, box, tailgate, and hood. Only the hood needs a little bit of filler in a few small hail dents, so in all honestly, it should mostly be a strip down then prime sorta deal

Yep! Just need to put it all together. Only thing I am missing is my transfercase and driveshafts -- Everything else is already sitting in either my room or my shop :P
Tonight I got the pass side cab support and rot cut out -- Bugs chased me in after that. Tommorow I will make the patches, and depending on if the sand blaster gets here or not, I will weld them in if possible. After that comes coating the bottom of the cab with Zero Rust, and cleaning up the firewall. My goal is to have the frame done, and have the cab, engine and exhaust on by the end of the may long weekend -- Then I can at least fire the old girl up and listen to the beauty, hehe Box hopefully will not take long to primer. I only gotta fill a few small dents and blemishes, and prime it. I am not going to bother doing anything to the bottom or top of the box floor as I plan to coat the box with some roll in liner, or maybe a spray in liner. For now I am just going to put on a slide in box liner that has the upper edges cut off cause they are so ugly, lol

Bad news I just found out that the sand blaster will be at least another 2 weeks. So much for takin the GMC to grad
Maybe I can find someone local who will lend me a nice lowrider or something :P Suck to show up in the old hick 89 :P

Sorry to hear that, bad luck. Oh well, you will have plenty time to enjoy the truck. I wonder why two weeks? YOu can look at it this way. Now you can take your time and you will proberly do a better job not being rushed.
