Speaker
I found a original speaker and bracket and cover for a blazer or jimmy that mounts under the dash but the speaker doesnt sound very good and the speaker is differant then the ones that go in the dash. I no they sell new ones for in the dash do they sell a the original style speaker for under the dash.

lmc has one that fits in the original location. and it is actually in stereo! (has two tweeters I think??)
anyway, if your wanting to keep the stock look, that is the best thing I have seen. |

I will check the catalog for you tonight when I get home, unless someone else comes along with the answer... but from what I remember about it in the catalog, it was designed to fit in the factory location...

Gary,
I noticed that you were the winning bidder on Ebay... If you decide to get rid of it, let me be the first in line! The "dual" speaker will not work right with the stock radios... you really need a 10 Ohm or it will burn up the radio. You can still get the original truck-style under-dash (hard to find, but out there). The 10 ohm 4"x10" that will fit the under dash mount like your's is really hard to find... Resto

I was that custom auto sound sells a replacment truck type speaker that has the edges cut off so I was thinking that might work, then I thought just regular car speakers would work, it looks like a standard size. I just havent gotten around to taking one of my grilles down to best buy to see if it would fit.
If neither of those options werent going to work I was going to either cut down a truck type speaker or unglueing and reglueing the paper from a good truck speaker to my blazer speaker metal piece. Last edited by Gee_Emm; 06-01-2005 at 06:51 PM. |

I took a new small version of a speaker of similar shape. I took and old larger grill and cut it down and bent it around the speaker. It looks ok nothing great. But a speaker in that place is extremely functional. I can listen to the radio and not blow my kids out in the back. I have 2 original speakers and they are a very narrow and smaller speaker than the dash one I think. anything much bigger would be in the way
