Seat Belt Tension ?

I posted this in the 73-91 Suburban section but didn't get much response. The front drivers and passengers seat belts in my '91 Burb don't have much tension or retracting capability. Is it possible to "rewind" a spring or something to give a better retracting capability? Other than that, belts are in good shape with no reason to replace even if I could find the correct color (blue) in a parts yard and better tension. Any replies and ideas for a fix are appreciated.

Lightbulb

I have never fooled with s/b unit's but i would remove the plastic housing and visually inspect the mechanisum and go from there.

If it looks like you can disassemble them and cng. out the spring assy. id go the j/y route cuz i dont think you will be able to get this item from any part's store including Chevrolet.

They dont like people messin' with safety items.

Good luck.
