Windshield Wiper Woes
My '69 c-10 has a major windshield wiper problem. The mount for the wiper motor is completely rotted away from the firewall. I guess I am going to try and manufacture a new bracket and tack a plate onto the open space on the firewall. Does anyone have any experience with this problem? I sure would like to know if there is some kind of easier fix, because this is going to be a booger to get right.
Thanks - B |

Probably be easier to find a junked truck and cut out a section and weld in yours.

If the rest of the cab is in just as bad of shape, you might want to get a whole new cab and save some time later on.

After today I am leaning towards the new cab idea. Lots of rot in this one. Firewall has quite a few bad spots. Rocker panels are gone. Rear cab pillars and supports. The whole bottom right side of the cab is pretty rough. It is odd to me that just the cab seems to have this much rust, and the rest of the truck is in pretty good shape other than some small spots in the bed. Is that normal? Oh well, it will keep me busy in the least. My Dad had this truck parked down by the gulf for abotu 8 years, so I gues the salty air didn't help this thing out at all.
