I replaced my oilpan gasket today w/ a one piece gasket and the damn thing still leaks
![]() The one piece seal had instructions that said to install dry w/o adhesives. So I did, the thing leaks where the oil pan/timing chain cover meet. I think I'm going to pull it again and use some silicon. What do you guys think? I did get my transfer case and rearend leaks fixed though ![]()

I believe in small quantities of silicone where the pain meets the block and t-chain cover. Also, make sure your front balancer seal is not the source! Having an old truck that doesn't leak is a joy.

My mistake there was that I forgot to pull the old front timing chain seal out! Also made it extremely tough to install, lol
After I pulled that thing out, I re-installed with a dab of silicone in each of the four corners, and not a drip of engine oil since! ATF on the otherhand has been dribbling out of my tranny for a while now, lol

I re-did it today with some silicone and the leak is stopped. What a pain in the butt.
