gas tank float problems
Has anyone else had this problem? I have installed 4 floats in my gas tanks and it seems to need to be replaced again. Two in the old steel tank and two in the new poly tank. The floats are brass and are split when I pull them out.
Is there something I should be doing? What is happening? Any ideas? The tank is under the bed and I am getting tired of pulling the bed for a $4 piece.

Re: gas tank float problems
I have no clue why they keep going bad. Are you testing them first before you install them?

Re: gas tank float problems
They usually work for a few months and then split.
cdowns, thanks for the input, I couldn't think of what coat it with, I'll try it this weekend.
