Are 77 tow hooks worth anything?

Just curious. Brian

Re: Are 77 tow hooks worth anything?

I had two sets of the 73-80 tow hooks and sold them here on the board for around $30 or so plus shipping. For whatever reason, they don't seem to be in demand as the 67-68 and the 69-72 style are. I've seen the 67-72 'hooks go as high as $300 plus on eBay. The 73-80 'hooks are really "beefy" as are the earlier ones from 67-72. '81 and newer aren't nearly as well made.

Re: Are 77 tow hooks worth anything?

They are harder to find than the 81-87 units for some reason....i'd agree with the $30 range for a price. But sometimes ebay can bring alot more if someone is really looking for them.

Re: Are 77 tow hooks worth anything?

Sorry to hijack this post but, does anyone have a good pic of factory 79 tow hooks? My favorite parts Blazer at my my buddies junk yard has a set of hooks on it. So far I got the dash cluster and the front and rear differential from it for my K-10.

Re: Are 77 tow hooks worth anything?

Brian, These are the stock GM hooks I pulled from a 77 4x4 pickup. Number on the side of each hook is......#328072 I was going to sell them as they are not stock for my '71 4x4 until I hit on the idea of using them for rear tow hooks on my truck. As luck would have it, the bolt holes for the tow hooks line right up with the holes in my rear bumper mounts. Might add, my step bumper is bolted to my frame in three places using 1/2" steel plates welded to the bumper itself. Will mount the hooks using two of the three bolt holes. Makes a pretty stout set-up.
