Re: 57 GMC on Barrett Jackson
A lot of money being spent last night and much more to come. I'd have sold him my Chevy for half that.

Re: 57 GMC on Barrett Jackson
Hmmm... "This truck is a one year only production where the Pontiac model engine was used." I think he is a little confused.. Cadman

Re: 57 GMC on Barrett Jackson
I agree that the 'One Year' Pontiac engine comment is incorrect.
I do not think it has the correct tailgate either, shouldn't it have the script letters, not the block letters? Is that a correct steering wheel? Don't get me wrong, it is a very nice truck. Big back window and V8!

Re: 57 GMC on Barrett Jackson
My 59 GMC is a Canadian truck and therefore came with the Chevrolet engine, which in my case is a good old 235!

Re: 57 GMC on Barrett Jackson
After a bit of research ...Yes!.. Wrong steering wheel ..Should have the bent spokes. And.. For a factory V8 there is no logo on the fenders. My 56 had the Pontiac engine with standard transmission. The ones with the automatic had the "Hydramatic" Logo on the bottom of the GMC logo. And you are also correct about the tailgate.....no block letters... Cadman

Re: 57 GMC on Barrett Jackson
Right Blaine, my '56 Jimmy tailgate has the script to match the hood emblem.
