You ever see your old truck and wish you had it back?
I was coming back from north Nashville just a few minutes ago and was traveling the entire 12 mile trip on 65 behind my old truck. I got to thinking that I kind of wished I had it back. Don't get me wrong I love my stepper and wouldn't trade it for my old yellow 69 any day, but I wished I'd kept it as a driver.
The kid that bought it from me really has treated it right though. He repainted the entire truck yellow and it's a little darker then before. It has a nice chrome bumper on the back of it that really changed the look of it. He also put some chrome ralley's on it. I lowered it maybe 2 inches all the way around a few weeks before I sold it. All nice upgrades to the truck that make it look really good now. Stuff that at the time to now from what I've learned on the board just wasn't that good. I sold it back in June of 03 and the knowledge that I've gotten from my current truck really makes me wish I had my yellow one back to use it on. I thought I'd post a few old pics of it that I had.

Re: You ever see your old truck and wish you had it back?
Yeah, I miss the Booger. I really liked this old truck and my dad wrecked it with my brother in it. He paid me for the truck and he and my brother are OK. I used the money for the down payment on my house. I miss the truck, but I like my house, and I like having my dad and brother alive too. Don't argue with fate.

Re: You ever see your old truck and wish you had it back?
I sold my 70 c10 short step , the new owner and his kid spent a ton of money on it , new engine , suspension , 17in wheels AND painted it Viper red , very cool . I see it only at car shows now , and on Napa commercials on TV . When the kids see it on TV they all laugh at me and say " Hey dad isn't that your old pickup" That hurts Who knew

Re: You ever see your old truck and wish you had it back?
I miss my 84 Z28, my 81 chevy 4x4, and my 77 CJ5, but mostly I miss being 20-24 years old, like I was when I had them . Good times. We traded in a 79 Mazda rx7 to buy our first family car(the Z28) cause we needed a place to hook up a car seat. LOL. A few years later our "family car" was a minivan, and my DD was a station wagon!
And 68stepbed, I would definately miss that truck too. But you've got the right attitude about what's really important. Al

Re: You ever see your old truck and wish you had it back?
There has been times when I wish I had never taken my truck apart to do the frame off restoration and just left it in the condition it was in to use it as a daily driver. I guess it was for the best since I will have a pretty awesome truck in the end. Hopefully I will have it back on the road soon and raising hell around town. I plan on never selling this truck at all and keep ot for the rest of my life.

Re: You ever see your old truck and wish you had it back?
I regret selling or wish I had them all back. A piece of me goes with each one. Basically can't own them all at once. I hope to in my years own all my dream cars at some time. (better get going with gas autos looking to be on the way out). (26+ yrs) Hope to have a couple muscle cars too. Never a speeding ticket and only 2 CS no license plate violations in 27 years.

Oh well, kid it went to is basically doing a frame off on her I'm also with Edmonton72 -- Kinda wish I hadn't bitten off so much in restoring my GMC, lol! Some days I wonder if I'll ever drive her again...

Re: You ever see your old truck and wish you had it back?
This is my old 69. It was my first full frame off resto. I was in the middle of a career change at the time and out of a job, so I was vulnerable and a guy with too much money to burn now owns it.

Re: You ever see your old truck and wish you had it back?
In '95 I bought an '89 Ext. Cab from my next door neighbor. Drove it until 2000 or 2001 then sold it to my next door neighbor on the other side. When I sold it the truck had 210K and I was tired of dealing with it. I don't live in the same house, but I still see my old neighbor driving the truck around town. I was happy to be rid of it and my neighbor was happy to get it (He wanted it when I originally bought it, but I showed up with $$$ first.) Glad to see that it is still on the road, but don't want it back.

Re: You ever see your old truck and wish you had it back?
I've sent two 86 toyota's to the scrapyard (no wrecks, just rusted all to hell, the frame split on one of 'em and on the other the driverside A-arms broke from rust while I was driving down the road.) I sold my red South Carolina rust free '86 toy that I had done a complete repaint on in early '04, right before the gas price spike hit. I saw the red one a few months ago. It's a little beat up. Oh well. Don't miss any of em. They all rode like bricks, no power steering, no horsie power, and the seats in those trucks all sucked.
I love my Silverado and C-10. Had the 67 since '96 and had the Silverado for almost a year now.

Re: You ever see your old truck and wish you had it back?
I still miss driving my 63 beetle. It was a simple car. That is one of the things I like about my 67 k10. It has the simplicity of my bug with 4 wheel drive and about half as much rust.

Re: You ever see your old truck and wish you had it back?
I dont see it but if I did it would be mine again.
The history. My brother bought this truck for me in 1994 in Flagstaff Arizona. He was going to school there. I went to college the fall of 95. I sold the truck to get something I could drive all year and get good gas mileage. College was a 1500 mile one way trip. I should of just drove it there. It got wrecked and rebuilt and then disappeared. Haven't seen it in years. Here is one i could buy back. Kid bought it and parked it after 6 months to redo it and hasn't moved since. He sold the wheels and tires and stripped the interior.

Re: You ever see your old truck and wish you had it back?
I think of all the ones I have had that I wish I had kept would be my 55 Chevy Belair 2 door post. I was in Japan at the time and it was so hard to get parts for it over there, so to keep the now ex happy I got rid of it.
