Re: Got Rust (Ebay Blazer)

That's nothin'--
The surfers who previously owned my '72 Blazer parts truck would have fixed such a small rust hole with a flattened Pepsi can and JB Weld. Also notice: there are no close-up shots of the windshield frame corners.

Wonder how the frame is...

I have a solid tub, could be interesting.

In NY too, go figure.

Re: Got Rust (Ebay Blazer)

It`s original paint. What you see is what you get. Most Blazers need the same repairs, just smaller holes.Dime-size or fist-size,the panel needs replaced.Nice exhaust, looks like mandrel bends, less restriction.

Re: Got Rust (Ebay Blazer)

Last two Blazers I parted out---the rear quarters dropped off as i removed the top---the tailgate was supported by the rear bumper which was rusted through. The firewall and windshield dropped back towards the seats when I unbolted the front fenders from the radiator support and firewall. Torsion boxes were totally non existant as were the outer rockers.
Rust is a relative thing. Yep--one of them relatives that just keeps showing up uninvited!!!
And when you drive 4 days to buy a rust free tub, you find the quarters were improperly assembled at the plant and nothing lines up~~~! Think I may just part-em rather then fix-em!!!!

Re: Got Rust (Ebay Blazer)

What's up with this trailing arm? Is it bent to lower it or has it been fatigued to the point of failure? Looks spooky either way...

Sorry, just noticed that he mentioned the rotten trailing arm, seems like he's being upfront about the condition...

Re: Got Rust (Ebay Blazer)

I have a weakness for giving too much benefit of doubt. You didn`t mean gays, now did you?I see you`re in your fledgling month.C`mon back and straighten it out so you can become a part of a great crowd. The Blazer is just plain rusty to anyone,NE,SW,NW,SE,gay, hetro, metro,bi,tri,or NY.But,worth some effort to fix. And`that`s what we`re here to talk about.
