How Rare?
How rare is a factory roll bar for blazers? Should I even search, or just build my own?

Re: How Rare?
Not rare at all, but shipping will kill you!! After market or custom is the way, cause the factory one was not great (bolts to the wheel well) so there is room for improvement.

Re: How Rare?
I'm surprised that they are that common. I just haven't seen alot of them. I have an aftermarket roll bar for a 72 truck, I wonder what I will have to do to make it fit without losing the rear seat. hmmm....

Re: How Rare?
Well they didn't come on all of them, but three I have owned have all had them. They mostly have a hoop behind the front seats and down bars that go to the wheel wells or behind them. I have seen them with two hoops one in front behind the front seats and one in the rear. It depends on how you intend to use it, rollbars protect in roll overs, so if wheel it the better rollbar you can get, the safer. I am thinking of buying a harbor freight pipe bender and building my own.

Re: How Rare?
Not sure they would fit . Remembering back .Some of the Military (M-1009) Blazer, something like that number may have had roll bar. Not all but some. Look at a govt .auction site. Better bet they were /are stout. just a thought. my.02%

Re: How Rare?
I bought mine for $50.00 but a 5 hour one way trip to pick it up. Just make sure that the person that takes it out doesnt bend it mine was so bent I had to torch off the angled bars and try to reweld them and it still move when I welded it. Back to torching them off again.

Re: How Rare?
Were there actually "factory" installed roll bars or were they all dealer installed later?
Is there a option code for them? I couldn't find one... |
