Bodywork question (price)
I've got an old bed thats in pretty good shape.. not too bad and quite frankly I don't feel like putting in the elbow grease to clean it up. I found a guy that will media blast it and put the first coat of primer on it for under $500. Sound reasonable?

I think that sounds pretty ballpark. Just the blast is usually around 200 bucks. I would hope he'd make sure it's all straight and everything too before he puts down some primer. Now if he's just blasting it and then going into primer without any other work I'd say its maybe a lil high.

It may be etching primer, which sprays like water. It is usually done after blasting to prevent rust. My cab cost $300 to blast, and about $40 to etch prime.

Not too bad and if the guy is good he is worth it, you get what you pay for...4 pieces total and all seperate, not a bad price. I just had part of the cab done and had to take it back for the rest(stupid me I know) but the total for the cab and to put it all in primer(not etching primer real primer you can't sand and paint right on top of it) was about $600, two trips cost me a little more. Etching primer really isn't needed after blasting as you have already preped the metal for proper adhesion with the blasting.

The price is right as everyone said - I would want to be sure I knew what "some primer" is being used to know that it's compatible with whatever I was going to topcoat it with.
