Well guys, I started to lay my truck out, but I have ran into some problems. I notched the back already, no problems there. I am running 20 inch rims, total diameter at 27" When I jack the axle up the trailing arms hit the frame well before the truck will lay out. I already have 2 inch blocks to help get it down, what have you guys done to get these trucks all the way on the ground in the rear?

Once the rear is done I'm going to X-member drop it 1.5" and then Z the frame to lay the truck all the way out and get the tranny pan up.

I have also ran into this problem and was thing of just moving the frame around the trailing arms..

z the frame 3" if i understand correctly, and bagged 72, is that ur truck in your avatar?

Yep, thats what my truck used to look like. Its been on jackstands for almost a year now. Going to school elongates the process, but anyways.

Does anyone have pictures of what others have done??

All the pics I have of the truck are at impuregenius.com Now it is taken apart and in all kinds of primer. Everyone thinks that Blue is nice, but in all actuality it was a crappy $200 paint job the previous owner had done that I was embarassed to have on my vehicle. Looked good in pictures though.

Anyone have input on the trailing arm problem?

How big is your notch ? You can do a little bigger block with a 20"..
You could also flip the trailing arm brackets on the Xmember and setup the rear perches straight to clear the frame. Any notch pics ?

See my thread in this forum title "Snip snip." While this is an entire back-half job, the net effect of "notching" well in front of the axle is that I got lots of clearance for the trailing arms. If you're not already too invested in the notch you have, consider stretching it forward to get some more clearance there.

What kind of drop does this get you? I'm guessing no more than an inch or so. (??)
