GMC Pauls disc brake kit
Has anyone installed the 6 lug front disc brake kit from GMC pauls yet? I am thinking of doing it on the "Farm Truck" but would like
some feedback first.

Disc brakes
I called every place I could find that sold disc brake kits for our trucks, and it seems that nobody can answer even the simplest questions about how they fit or what was included.
I ended up buying my kit from Early Classic because the guy took the time to answer every one of my questions. It turns out that they actually manufacture the spindles right there, and all the brake stuff was lifetime gauranteed Raybestos. All I had to buy was the brake fluid and bearing grease. |

Both early classics and our spindles are cast by the same USA manufacturer, then they are turned on state of the art CNC machines here in the USA, CNC-controlled programing is also used for the making of the 4140 Chromoly spindle pins on the spindles. All the bearings, seals, hoses, cotter pins, dust caps, calipers, pads & rotor hub assembly are all New made in the USA parts. Our 6 lug rotor/hub assembly is a new 6 lug rotor and hub assembly not a plugged 5 lug rotor redrilled to a 6 lug pattern as many sell. The kits we sell allow you to use your original upper and lower ball joints, tie rods, etc.... so no changes in any front suspension or steering parts are required. NOT all stock wheels will work with either our kit or early classics due to the calipers some drum wheels that are stock will rub on them so a change in your stock original rims may be required.
The only thing we do not include in our complete kit that is found in the early classic kit is disc brake backing plates for the inside of the rotor. With the disc brake rotors self-cleaning design this has been eliminated from many modern day vehicles and many show truck owners prefer not to have them preffering the look of a exposed rotor inner surface so we offer them as a option rather than selling you something you do not have to have. What about the master cylinder and proportioning valve?
Everything I got in my kit was lifetime guaranteed raytbestos and delco parts. Who makes the brake parts in your kit, and if your spindles are cast by the same manufacturer, are they the same spindles? Mine say Early Classic on both sides. |
