Oopps, Flopped my K5 over>>>>
Ooooppps! hahah Oh well..been wheelin this truck sence 93 so it was bound to happen someday. The story is I was trying to straddel the washout instead of hugging that tree next to the trail...well my rear pass slid into the washout and threw the drivers side front up and then the whole truck slamed down on the frontclip & pass door due to the downhill... Some say driver error or taken the hardline with a little bad luck You choose.... Hard to see the dents but the door is tweaked from the mirror and handel...the windshield pillar took a hit too.... Just thought I would share my fun

That's a pretty funny pic with the girl holding up the truck by the soft top, while the guys stand around and look... lol

Re: Oopps, Floped my K5 over>>>>
hahaha ya that looks funny..the rollcage is right there. I was trying to get it started to drive out of it but oil got into the starter and fried it ...after that I hooked my winch up to a tree and then fried one of the sillys in the winch! WTF!! So my buddy drove around and gave me a yank to right my truck then I rolled down the hill and bumpstarted it

Re: Oopps, Floped my K5 over>>>>
First time over and all the wheelin`you`ve done with that.I`d say you were due.The grainy green`71 in my avatar laid over once, much the same way.The nose went down in the ditch, right wheel first. That wheel hit the crease and the weight lifted off the rear end as the front weight shifted to the left wheel when that wheel hit the crease. The hole rear went left and came down sideways on the slope(steep).Well needless to say,she laid herself to rest on her left side.It was a top-off day and we got it back up and I could drive it home.I got the windshield straightened for glass. But,never had a hardtop on it again.I never liked the hardtop anyway. That is one fun Blazer you have there, buddy.

Re: Oopps, Floped my K5 over>>>>
thats a commitment.same as i had with my really nice 89...still many regrets that i dont have that truck anymore.....now i have a nearly finished tube chassis buggy..and a screwed up neck and screwed up back and no will or desire to finish the buggy. Keep having fun in your truck...maybe its time for a different cage?

there are plenty of these trucks in poor enough shap to hack a great wheeler out of...i dont see the problem....better than letting it sit and rust to death

Battle scars are better than quietly rusting to pieces.

Well I'm happy to hear it wasn't worse...I'd say you still got a pretty clean wheelin' record at 13 years and 1 whoops...

Re: Oopps, Floped my K5 over>>>>
State Farm won`t have you now.(Insert adult one fingered smiley here)I have a crappy`72 quietly rusting that I took the drivetrain out of 20 years ago.I think I`ll build it,now. It`s a New Mexico Blazer and for "wheelin" it would be perfect. Thanks for the inspiration.

Heck not bad at all it don't even look like you cracked the windshield. Good thing you have a 4 speed so you could bump start it.

Re: Oopps, Floped my K5 over>>>>
Serious Burt......if you really plan to wheel it and may dump it again why not consider some more cage? Not doggin i just hate seeing people get hurt on the trail. I came down a hill in Tennessee side over side in a really nice tube frame buggy there were 4 people in the buggy and no one was serious hurt....other than my bad neck getting further tweeked but i didnt notice it then. My long winded advise unwarranted advise.....if your gonna play hard protect yourself as much as possible.
Now there ...........where are my pain pills?? |

Re: Oopps, Floped my K5 over>>>>
Nice pic! Pushing the envelope sure makes things more interesting. You just never know when the push is just a little too much. Hope the damage isn't serious and will only require bolt on replacements. I sure enjoy your build updates both here and on the other site.
Sent you a pm.

Re: Oopps, Floped my K5 over>>>>
Speaking of your Pismo experience....sand is wierd, ain`t it?So,your Blazer laid-over but it couldn`t fall. The sand just held it?That`s what I mean, like no other wheelin`.It`s about opposite, extreme traction vs low traction.Alot of people roll in sand making turns at speed(dumb). No powerslides here.
