Front left disk brake is locked up
My truck has been sitting outside for about 6 months without moving and my front left disk brake is locked up. I drove it around the yard today and it seemed to have loosened up a bit, but is there anything else I could do to unlock it and burn the surface rust off the rotors?

Re: Front left disk brake is locked up
When I bought my truck I had the same problem, I never could get it to unlock other than temporarily. on the way home it would lock up everytime I stopped and would finally unlock again when it got to hot, but I was planning a frame off so I didn't care if it screwed up the rotor or anything.

Re: Front left disk brake is locked up
Same problem here with the left front. I ended up just doing a complete brake upgrade. I was reading a post here in the last few days though were someone said it ws caused by a blockage in the line where it attached. Hope this helps

Re: Front left disk brake is locked up
Those loaded calipers are about $15 at Advance and should take about 20 min. each side. Should be a cheap way to find out if its the caliper and you will get fresh ones out of the deal. The last 2 times I had that problem it was the caliper.
