Truck came with no keys !! Now what ??
When I picked up my 63 from the original owner, he didn't have any keys for it.
The ignition turns and starts with out a key, just doesn't go all the way to the lock position...and the doors obviously cannot be locked. My question is how could I go about getting some keys for this truck ?? Do you think a locksmith could make new keys for the door locks ?? I could change out the ignition to one of those universal boat ignitons....but the doors are what I'm really worried about. Would I have to get new handles ?? Are they available ?? If so, they are probably very expensive. Any info would be great !!! JOHN

Yes a lock smith can make keys for it.. And for that lock probably in about 2 mins. just take the door handle off and bring it to him or if you can drive the truck there do that... He can make it for you on the spot...

Re: Truck came with no keys !! Now what ??
You can buy a full set of door cyclinders, ign tumbler, and matching keys for the 67-72's. I bet you can find them for 60-66 too. Probably cheaper than a locksmith.... Ok I looked for you. The 60-66 is more expensive than 67-72. But you csn get the full set including glove box door lock for $75 here.

reminds me of the old 66 I used to have- I got the truck back in a divorce settlement but she kept the keys and that was 10 years ago when hardly anyone carried parts for these trucks -now I can laugh about it.
