87 gmc sfbd

Anyone in this forum sfbdropped an 87 "last year" gmc. Already bagged.
From what i have heard you can get them to lay on the crossmember, and then z'd the crossmember and it will lay rockers. I am not too positive but 1 guy said YOU need the front clip z'd and its on the rockers. The 87's lay really easy but hey what do i know that's why im here and im new...
All posts appreciated to give me a heads up before the plasma gets fired up and i do more work than i have to. 3/1/2 to lay rockers, whopping 5/1/2 for the bumper..

Does a guy have to mess with cab mounts or trim the frame and box it in.
Would really suck to cut something and compromise any integrity spots on a vehicle when one didnt have to do it although i love the torch..
