67-72 front drop

my wife has been asking for my Christmas wish list, and i am wondering if anyone is using spindles and 3" coils up front for a 5.5 to 6 inch drop.
what problems if any do you see in doing this? ground clearance at crossmember or fender wheel well rubbing? what about a 5 inch spring in the rear with 2" blocks.
anyone got any pictures of one that low?
any help would be greatly appriciated, thanks in advance

ostncoln,I'm from Big "A" and i would be afraid to go that low with a static drop.The gutter drains across some of the streets are deeper than that.Measure the distance from the crossmember to the ground and see how much clearance there really is.There are kits to install a slimmer crossmember but they get Pricey.

I had the similar setup that I was going to use but never installed. Go for it and lets see it. All you have to do is raise it back up. Spindle 2 1/2" with 3" spring and 6" coile with 1" lowering block.

It sounds like you're setting yourself up for a world of heartache friend. If you look at trucks that have 3" drop coils the spindle end of the lower arms are already way higher than the center of the crossmember. Not to mention you will have to be careful whenever you jack up the truck to make sure the front coil doesn't fall over (I know everyone doesn't have that problem but a lot of them do). Your balljoints are going to be in less than perfect geometry as well. If you want 6.5" of drop in the front and expect to have any reliability you are probably going to have to step up to a fatman or porterbilt rack & pinion setup. Or you can get out your favorite cutting tool, straight edge and welder and Z the front half of your truck. I'm not saying what you are suggesting wont work but do your research before you shell out the $ for your plans. As far as combining a 6" spring with blocks out back goes, be prepared for some more cutting. I'm running a 6" drop in the back and I feel I could benefit from a notch. The problem is that even with a notch you are still going to create other areas of interference. The bed floor is going to become an obstacle as well as I think at least one crossmember. Again I'm not saying that you can't go this route but form a good plan and decide what your level of committment is. I personally wanted my truck to be semi level and the rear to be as low as I could get it without having to use a notch. Anywho I'm off my little soapbox now! Take your time and good luck!

here let me help you I have that suspension drop. you will not have a problem your crossmember will be a tad close to the ground but you can negoiate most places oh bye the way your truck is not relly gonna look slamed like you might think i also did a 3in body drop on mine and it now looks like a bagged truck thats aired out... i live in west texas though nothing but straight flat roads here.... loose the idea of the blocks.. you will have rear wheel hop if you got any kind of horse power...not to mention they throw your pinion all out of wack. got my 6" rear springs and spring and spindles all from sport truck dirrect for a little over 400 bucks. but remember your not done there your going to have to spend around another 400 for shock relocaters and panard bar and 4 lowered shocks. oh and one more thing the three in springs will make your front tires toe in at the top, i made a 3/8 plate to put behind my top a arm and then let the alienment shop shim them to spec. sorry no pick but i can tell you my front bumper is about 4 in off the ground and the cab is 7in off the ground rear of bed is 9 so add 3in to those mesurements and that is where you will be, oh by the way my truck is a big block so it may have a little more rake than a sbc....
