vin question
Looking at a 65? chevy stepside for future restore. The vin starts C1546A1xxxxx. Is this possibly a 66? Also, the title is lost and the current owner never transfered the title from the previous owner. How can I get a title for this truck? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: vin question
Decoder at www.americanclassic.com shows it as a 66. For advice on the title, contact your state DMV. Every state has different rules.

Re: vin question
According to the partial VIN you have provided, the truck you are looking at is a 1/2 ton (C), long wheel base chassis cab (15), stepside bed (4), manufactured in 1966 (6) in the Atlanta (A), GA plant. The last six digits represent the unit number manufactured from the production plant, starting with 100,001.
With regards to the title, contact the Florida DMV regarding application for a lost title on a 1966 Chevy truck. Each state will have different requirements pertaining to lost titles. A great source of information for the '60-'66 Chevy trucks is the 1960-1966 Chevrolet/GMC Truck Factory Assembly Instruction Manual. It is available from many of the aftermarket truck suppliers. Good luck with your project. Last edited by LILRED66; 12-17-2006 at 01:20 AM. |
