That was a great thread link. I'm sure it will be helpful for everyone who attemps to install a Camaro subframe.

Re: TECH Camaro clip install on a 55-59 frame

cool

just how i did my front clip, without cutting the camaro clip short...lets you use the stock camaro/nova tranny crossmember

a difference with mine though is that where the truck frame rails were cut, they were radiused to match the slope/curve of the camaro frame

So how do you think the way yours has been installed will compare to mine? Do you think there will be any differences in stance, handling, braking or steering?

Ross, mine is done just like yours which is the way I prefer, not to say the others are done wrong it's just that I thank its a much cleaner job and look as if it came that way. I do know a guy who lives near me that welded the Camaro sub-frame were it turns down on to the top of the truck's frame rails. It dumped the stance but he had problem with his transmission crossmember and had to shim it up. Just my five cents worth. I like the way yours has turned out!

Hi Cal 58 GMC...how much clearance will your crossmember have at rideheight? If my calculations are correct, I will have about 2.5-3" of clearance at ride height.
