suicide doors front cups?

i am using the suicide door front bracket kit on my 68 1/2 ton. things that bother me are the cups dont drop all the way in to the lower a-arm. they are just a little to big to hit the bottom. the other is when i jacked the truck up last night with no air in the bags the lower lower cups came right out of the a-arms. today i trimmed the cups down 1 1/2 inchs and beveled the bottom edge so they will seat deeper in the pocket. am i correct in there is nothing holding these in othrt then weight? seems as if i am driving with low air pressure and hit big bump or something there is nothing keeping the cup in. is this just me or is all cool? thanks, pkj

you got it they just sit in there.I did pretty much the same as you,I trimmed off some and made the cut to fit the pocket better.Mine have never come out of the a arm when the front is jacked up though.

You would have to hit a pretty big bump (as in come off the ground at least a foot) before that cup will come out. You have about 1500 pounds holding those cups in, they aren't going anywhere.

thanks guys, makes me feel better. i jacked the truck up by center point. thats why they came out i guess? just put them back in now after cutting them down 1 1/2 inch. top plate bolt hits steer stops when aired out. how important are those? pkj
