The factory looking one I assume is what you are talking about, $150 and Up

Re: WIW-Swing Away Spare Tire Carrier

typically between 75 and 150 depending on condition---little to nothing if it isn't complete with the inner quarter panel support brackets for attachment and the tailgate receiver bkt.

Re: WIW-Swing Away Spare Tire Carrier

They are only worth something if you have the inner and outer brackets RED72Blazer mentioned. I paid $75 (bought from a board member) for the one I got for my '69 about 5 years ago. I've seen them listed as high as $150, but I would think that may take a while to sell.

Re: WIW-Swing Away Spare Tire Carrier

I found one awhile back complete w/ inner brackets, had it sold for $225, but
the guy I was getting it from never brought it to me. (I was selling it for him)

Re: WIW-Swing Away Spare Tire Carrier

I've got one complete with all brackets including the rust free tailgate off of a parted out blazer. Problem being that with one mounted with a typical spare, it blocks your rear view quite a lot--so does the inner spare mount. Wonder if there is a mini spare with 6 bolt pattern??hehehehe

Re: WIW-Swing Away Spare Tire Carrier

I don't have any problem seeing out the back with my swing-away.(235/85R16 - about 31.5" tall)

Could you just get a lower profile tire and put it on a six lug steel rim?

Re: WIW-Swing Away Spare Tire Carrier

Running a shorter spare is not a good idea if you have posi. This can wear out your posi clutches in a few miles! Plus a small spare on the tire carrier would look goofy.
