project nearing completion...need opinions
O.k its been a while since i last posted so heres where im at now. I've finished the chassis work, frame painted, control arms finished, air ride done,
all buttoned up. Now i'm prepped and ready to prime and paint I sure could use some visual persuation on a color since i just cant seem to pick out a color from a book of chips. The truck looks a lot like that pastel blue 67swb iv'e seen on the forum but i cant decide if thats what i want to go with for paint. Any interior/exterior pix would really help motivate. (thanks in advance.. |

Color choice is way too personal. Think of it like a tattoo, no matter how cool your buddies think it is, you are the one that has to look at it 24/7.
My truck will be satin black until the rest of the truck is finished, then it will be repainted yellow. I bought it yellow, it was meant to be yellow. But until I have the rest of the truck done, black hides the most metal. |

Re: project nearing completion...need opinions
Now...is this going to be a fast loud truck?? I'd hit up a dark color; black, deep cherry, dark dark purple, etc. Now....a "HEY, LOOK AT ME" truck needs a bright color...yellow, red, hugger orange, etc. I know this from driving a yellow truck...cops love to follow me.
Color is a very personal choice. Look around the site....hit up cardomain.com...and figure out what look your going after. Heck....go to a couple new car dealerships; alot of new cars have some pretty cool colors. Plus. it'd be different to run, for example, a '07 Ford Ranger Vista Blue sprayed on an old truck. It's all up to you. But please, don't go with copperhead orange...too many cars are being painted that color, imo. Good luck.

You wouldn't want someone to choose your next girlfriend would you? I'm a bluezy kind of guy myself but it's your truck and you'll be driving it.

Re: project nearing completion...need opinions
Well, I bought the truck 5 years ago and it was all in gray primer, its always
been known as that primer chevy, I'm trying to keep it more of a hotrod as it's always been, but i think it would be a shame to get it this close to paint just to prime it and throw it back together. I love how a light color brightens up the interior but I would prefer an exterior color more towards black or a wineberry red. I'm just not too confident I can prep it for such a dark color |
