Tulsa/Houston '71 Blazer
I just got my new toy two days ago up in Denver and roaded it all 700 miles back here to Tulsa, OK (that's a heck of a trip considering its a 3 speed auto with 4.88 gears). It has a '68 or '69 396ci hooked up to a TH400. The differentials have 4.88 gears in them I think (3000rpm was about 65mph). The paint is a kinda irridescent dark purple/burgundy, so I'm thinking about calling it Bacchus, god of wine. Back to the mechanics; roughly 6-8" suspension lift with 2" body lift. I definitely need to get some step ups for it. All that is on top of some 36" Super Swampers. This is definitely a project truck, and has a lot of quirks. Speedo cable isn't long enough to hook up, needs a front drive shaft, the bottom of the tub is rusted pretty good and needs replacing. This thing is a torque monster and a real trip to drive. It needs a rear bench (what trucks should I look at pulling one from for an easy install?) and a soft top by the time spring hits so that the real fun can begin.
Here's a few pics of it parked outside (the lighting isn't so great).

Re: Tulsa/Houston '71 Blazer
Thanks for all of the hospitality! And on the barney subject, who knows... it could even end up being the Purple Nurple. Grand plans for it include an electric green paint job, but it needs minor things like Texas state inspections and upgraded brakes first!
