Hello from France
Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I just found this site, and quite happy that I did. My name is Alex. I live in France. I've been a member of the Team Chevelle site for years. I used to live in the states and own (currently "restoring") a 69 Chevelle SS (496ci, 10:1, 320cc Alu heads, etc.) . I just picked up a 1970 C20 from Texas. Thought it would be a great combination. Plus, I think the truck is pretty cool. It's a 350/350 vehicle, but finding information on pickups is quite a bit harder than for A-bodys. I'm going to hit ya'll up for information right away! Where can I get a good wiring schematic? I have an old Chiltons for pickups and it has nothing. I also wanted to ask if there is like a "parts for sale" section on this website. I need a passenger side floor vent (whole mechanism) I just have and open hole always blowing cold air, and the washer nozzles that are in the cowl! (can't find those in the LMC catalog. Here is a picture of my truck. I really hope no one recognizes it and says "hey, that's my old piece of crap." It has a Goodwrench replacement Targetmaster motor, but I drove her all the way down from Hamburg, Germany, (which is way up north( on the Autobahn, and she ran fine. Seen some of the projects and trucks on this site and I have to compliment some of you on your work. This truck seems to be in pretty good shape, and that is good thing. I've been working on the Chevelle body and frame for about 6 years, and it is starting to wear on me. Anyways. Hello
Alex |

Hey Alex,
Welcome from Vienna, Austria. That is a nice truck you have there. I can say we would all like to see your Chevelle pics also.

Re: Hello from France
Thank you for the welcome greetings. Sure, I would like to show the Chevelle pictures also. Is there a showroom here that I can upload pictures to?
Alex Here is a little picture of my 496. Now it has a Jesel Belt drive on it. Crower stainless rockers, The rotating assembly is from SCAT with SCAT rods and SRP pistons. The cylinder heads are from World Products/casting/Bill Mitchell, whatever they go by now. CSR water pump, Stef's pan, Trick flow pushrods, Doug Herbert solid roller lifters, Doug Herbert Hydraulic roller cam, World Products intake, 1050 4500 (which I may just run at track events, I have an 850cfm vacuum secondary for street use) I have a cam in it, but it is too small. Trying to get Harold Brookshire to grind me something better. I built the motor when I lived in Florida, but then it was a 468 with 049 oval ports, a 525 lift Lunati hyraulic flat tappet and too much compression for an iron headed motor in FL. Ran good though on the cool summer nights at the near sea level altitudes in Bradenton. |
