original wheel question
confused about the original wheel size for my '71 C20. It has aftermarket 16.5's on it now, but I was told it originally came with 16 inch wheels from the factory. I tried to put some 16's on it off of my '69 truck and they were too small to fit over the caliper. What was the original size wheel for my '71 C20?

Re: original wheel question
yep, rag'nrat638 is correct, but why not go with a 17 or 18 , atleast when the rubber wears out , you will be able to find it, 16.5" are gettn harder to find.

Re: original wheel question
My last '70 C20 had 16's and my 73 C20 did too. Not sure, but I think both sizes were used

Re: original wheel question
Both were available and either should fit over the calipers. On a K/20 I used 15 rims and only had to grind a little on the calipers to make it work.

Re: original wheel question
Wheels made for drum brakes frequently rub on disk brake calipers. Per original sales literature, 16" was standard and 16.5" was optional equipment.

Re: original wheel question
16 was split rims, 16.5 was non split rims.
