preview pics -57 GMC Ambulance

Middle of last year, starting to add lights.

Cruising Woodward Avenue last year at the Dream Cruise.

As it sits now with recently completed air suspension

"Artists conception" lowered with 20's.

Future plans also call for a custom roof rack with about 16 more lights on it. It will have a custom hidden stereo system (made to look like medical gear, with subwoofers disguised as oxygen tanks and the head unit hidden inside a defibrillator), and all the lights will be synchronized to the stereo output.

After I get all that done, I also have a 1957 boat to pull behind it:

Now that is cool, You definitley wont see another like that one on the road!

Whats the history behind the truck? I remember seeing a 57 Napco conversion Suburban the nearly the same color at a show a few years ago.

It was originally delivered to the Los Angeles Fire Department, 1 of approximately 25 made. It was tracked down by a man with a 57 GMC show truck who was looking for something interesting to tow his truck to events. It was being used by a pool cleaning company to drive all their gear around, but they saved all the interior ambulance gear that was in it. It was rebuilt with a new front frame clip and a 400 small block. He moved to a place where he couldn't keep all his vehicles, so he decided to sell it off and I bought it from him.
