Difference between 81-91 Blazer and Suburban Frames

Here's the deal. The previous owner of the 1981 Blazer 2WD that I have now cut a few inches off of the frame to install a "custom" bumper off of a Dodge Truck or something. Now I want to install the original style bumpers back on my Blazer. I have done some research in the LMC catalog and determined that the rear brackets for the bumper are the same. But what I want to know is if the frame at the rear is the same for sure.

Does anybody have any pictures of the rear on a 81-91 Suburban that they could post or email me?

Heres some pictures of what they did to my frame rails:

Yes a Blazer but at that point I was done cutting.
That contraption on the ground was the home-made tow hitch the PO installed. I installed a nice 2" reciever hitch after that.
Unfourtuneatly the PO welded it to the frame behind the horns. You can still see the ends of the angle iron behind the top, inner bumper mount holes. There is no way to put the bolts though those holes now.
I might be able to get you the frame horns from a donor K5 but it will be a while before we get to that point. If you still need them then it would only be shipping cost.

Is that a sway control mount on that hitch? I sure hope no one was pulling somthing big enough to require a sway control with that hitch!

That would be great. The earlier the better! Thanks for the offer, just let me know when you would be able to get to them. I will pay you for the S&H and for the parts.

Actually the hitch was pretty stout - it must have weighed about 70 pounds!
But it looked wrong and I needed a reciever for a bike rack more than a ball to tow with.
I don't think I would ever tow anything that big with a Blazer either way.

Like I said, its going to be a while. I am going to do a body swap from the donor to one of my 2wd's and my buddy is looking for a straight frame.
But neither one of us are in any kind of hurry to get it done.
So it will be a while.
But I will let you know when that time comes.
