Adjusting windows

I searched the forum for this but didn't come across anything.
My passenger side window pops out of the the front track as it's hits about the half way point when rolling it down. I pulled the shims out of the front track and now I get another 2" or so but it still pops out of the front track. Are all the adjustments to the tracks done with shims? I didn't pull the shim from the real track because I ran out of daylight, I'll try that tonight but I was wondering if I'm going about this the right way, if there is a better way to adjust the tracks or if it sounds like something else is off.

I had a simlar problem turns out that i didnt have the rear track lined up in the door so the window kept coming of track. Id say cheve those for right alinement.

Do you mean adding and removing shims from the rear track mount that is inside the door or is there another adjustment that I'm not seeing?

na i have no shims in my door at lease non i have seen. Im talking about the window track in the back of the window in the door. I had the track moved to far backwards after the install. So when i took it back apart i say that i put the bolt that hold the window channel at the wrong spot.

Basicly the back channel wasnt touching the window in the door causing the window to move freely.

For anyone out there with a similar problem, here's what I did. I put the shims back in the front channel, removed the shim from the rear channel and bolted everything in place with the window up. Then I reached inside the door and pulled the rear channel forward bending the mounting bracket slightly. Somehow the rear channel got pushed back less than a 1/2" and it was letting the glass fall out of the front channel. I rolled the window down a bit and watched the front channel to make sure the glass wasn't pulling away. A couple more little pulls on the back channel and the window was working smoothly again.
