6 lug vs. 5 lug
Hello all,
I'm new to the board, having just purchased an '87 K10. It has 6-lug wheels, which I thought didn't start until '88 on 1/2 tons, but then again, I know virtually nothing about this generation of Chevy truck. What was the usage/reason for 5-lug vs. 6-lug wheels? Was there a light duty 3/4 ton? (seems oxymoronic, if there is). It's titled as a 1/2 ton, so that seems unlikely. Thanks in advance. |

Re: 6 lug vs. 5 lug
The start of the 5 lug 2wd started in the 71 year model era, four wheel drives have been six lug since the start of them in Chevrolet/Gmc for half tons if i recall correctly.
But at any rate 2wd 71-98 = 5 lug and 4wd (just for point of reference) 67-current 6 lug. |

Re: 6 lug vs. 5 lug
I don't know why that didn't occur to me. Thank you kindly, gentlemen.
