[QUOTE bcanini Whats the history on this?? I haven't heard.

The blazer belongs to Green Monster & some POS is stealing the photos off of Green Monsters cardomain site & using them to place an ad on Ebay for a truck he doesn't own or have, so it's a total scam, whoever wins the bid will never get the truck.

Actually, here is the scam. The POS lists the truck as if it is for sale on ebay but cancels bids from people that do not contact the POS and blocks people from bidding that did contact the POS. The auction ends and no one is declared the winner. Anyone who contacted the POS during the auction receives a message from the POS after the auction was over and offers the truck up for sale outside of ebay for $6,000. Therefore he attempts to get several foolish people to send him a check. That's much better than one check from one guy. Plus, the transaction never took place on ebay, so ebay cannot do anything but close the account or press charges.

FYI- Never send money for anything if you are not the high bidder on ebay. Ebay cannot help you if you. The rules are in place to protect you.

I will contact ebay... again.

Re: Hey Green Monster

It's still there? Why not offer to mail him a check and then turn the addy over to the police? He seems to keep trying, why not catch him and deal with this guy as opposed to getting ebay to close it, only for him to do it again later?

Agreed!

I contacted EBAY as well to let them know that it is a fraudulent listing.

What a jerk!

You're truck is really nice, but even I would have a problem selling over & over. Wait a minute, I wouldn't sell it once! Even if it were mine!

Later,
Buddy

Glad mine's not painted, or I'd have the same problem

On a serious note, this sucks that it is possible to do this,
Maybe Cardomain needs to change their format where you
can't "Right Click" and "Save" (I know that would suck also
since alot of us save ideas from websites like that) pictures

I know that it is a little late in this case, but I am checking to see what is required to copyright photos. Even ebay will pull listings that use copyrighted photos without permission. I know that it is not the best solution, but it can't hurt to try. That way people could save pictures, but have a leg to stand on if something like this pops up again.

Re: Hey Green Monster

Copyright infringment is a good idea, but the guy will probably just find some other images to carry on his scam.

As an artist, I can tell you that all photos are technically copyrighted the moment they are taken by the artist unless the artist is working under a "work-for-hire" contract or they release ownership.

You may proceed with a simple "cease and desist" letter. Something like this:

Dear [name]:

It has come to my attention that you are using or are in possession of my copyrighted photography. As you neither asked for nor received permission to use the photography, including electronic copies, I believe you have willfully infringed my rights under 17 U.S.C. Section 101 et seq. and could be liable for statutory damages as high as $150,000 as set forth in Section 504(c)(2) therein.

I have reserved all rights in the photography and demand that you immediately cease the use and/or distribution of the photography
and all copies, including electronic copies, and that you desist from this or any other infringement of my rights in the future. If I have not received an affirmative response from you by [date give them about 2 days] indicating that you have fully complied with these requirements, I shall take further action against you.

Very truly yours,

So what your saying is that he's doing something wrong...gotcha.

If this happened to me i'd be pretty mad but if it happened twice by the same person i'd become hostile and try to find the bastard.

I guess you could also take it as a compliment since apparently he thinks yours is soo valuable (i'm not saying it isn't).

Re: Hey Green Monster

One of the reasons I dont use car domain,ect.....Just have my pictures here.....
If it was me having my blazers pics and info on a scam listing the first thing I would do would be delete the car domain page.Get as many pics off the internet as possible. They might check car domain for info on trucks and get pics and copy the info to the listing, but I bet they dont check here.I would delete the car domain page,my 2 cents...considering it happened 2 times already

Re: Hey Green Monster

Is he linking to car domain or did he save them and post them? If he is linking, change the photos to something vulgar or with a big "scam" across it.

Re: Hey Green Monster

I bid $10,000.00 on it earlier today and was high bidder. I got home from work and checked it out and noticed it had been removed from the listing. I emailed the guy and told him I have all intentions of winning this Blazer and if/when I won I would paypal a deposit and fly in with the rest of the cash and drive it home. I wanted to see what his reply would be but he or ebay has cancelled the listing.
