This truck is just big & bad! It was just bought in WA state off EBAY. The new owner likes big old trucks.
That is original red paint and the trim just shines like new. Look at the 9ft bed that has always had a camper on it. There isn't a mark on those bed sides or fenders. Notice the factory small back bumper and covers over the bumper braces.
The Ford hubcaps are going away ASAP...and look what is going back on. Those are original 17" split rims with the dog dish hubcaps (five of them).
He brought it out because he is looking for some finishing touches and knows I would love it.
283 with a 4:56 rear gear.

SWEEEEEEET!!! Love those stockers! That is why there are no original hubcaps left. Look how far they hang outside those wheels...LOL! They are totally exposed to all the road hazards.

I`ve always had a fondness for the "real trucks".I love them all!But,I come from the heavy duty end,although I`ve been into cool shortbeds since my first truck in`73.I didn`t realize the mouldings were available on Stepsides and cab`n`chassis.I guess they dropped that in`69.That`s a truck lover`s truck...fancy utilitarian:
*Fancy.......Custom or CST package that gives the brightwork and nice int.
*Utilitarian...1t,Stepside,4spd.

Nice truck, very low production model. I agree, the full wheel covers from the 80's do not belong on a 1 ton pickup from the 60's. The original hubcaps will look great on the stock red rims.Just remember these wheels need to be mounted by a truck tire dealer only, because they look like the 3 piece type, going to any other dealer would be a waste of time.17 inch tires are available, but usually not in stock.

I want to get a picture of a truck my Chevy dealer has had as long as I remember.It`s a`66 or earlier 1t Stepside,Red,wrecker mounted,and the dealer`s name lettered on the doors.It`s the older brother of that truck.
